I was assigned to a group and we had to write and present an IT-based proposal, in which we had advocate for the utilization of free/open source software to solve or improve one or more issues within a specific business context. The assignment required us to clearly and succinctly define the business context in which we were working. We had to clearly identify the parties involved; who were the presenters and who was the audience? Additionally, we had to identify the issue at hand. What problem we were solving or what idea we were promoting? Also, we had to explain technical advantages, and cost advantages. We also had to address the potential complications and identify the comparable proprietary software that we were replacing or avoiding.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY PRATICUM - Peter Jorgensen
The assignment instructed me to compare at least three solutions to solve an IT problem for a College. The college faculty needed to access various internet services when traveling on official business. Some of the hotels that they go to provide free internet access some do not. Some airports and other venues have free access but many do not. I had to make a justified recommendation for a solution that the College could implement to facilitate internet access by traveling faculty. I conclude the assignment with a recommendation with justification of which one to purchase. My justification factored: cost; coverage; supported platforms; required system configuration; security and other important issues.

Information Tech Project - John Marks and Melinda Whetstone
I had the pleasure of working with the members of the Krissi Flatt Foundation for a project assignment. The goal of this assignment was to ensure that I had adequate experience within project management. The Krissi Flatt Foundation is a non-profit organization whose mission is to save lives through public awareness and education about potential adverse reactions to prescription drugs. In order to raise funds to support this organization, they have decided to hold an annual fishing tournament. The tournament is called The Krissi Flatt Memorial Fishing Tournament. My goal was to help organize the events for the 2nd Annual Krissi Flatt Memorial Fishing Tournament. In addition, I had to design and implement an informal website that would provide information to the public. I feel that this project has allowed me to gain the skills necessary to implement such techniques within other companies.
